WHO WE ARE

Gary Heydens – Program Director

Gary Heydens is an account executive at McKee Foods Corporate, makers of Little Debbie snacks, as well as having served on the Flower City Outreach Board of Directors since 2015. He originated the idea for Link Youth Mentorship and spearheaded its launch in 2022. Gary and his wife, Joanne, have three grown daughters and four grandchildren, live in Penfield, NY and worship at Calvary Assembly of God where he also serves as an Elder.

Matthew Terry – Assistant Program Director

Matthew Terry works as a Senior Sales Representative at Graybar Electric and previously served as a mentor in 2003 with C.O.P.E. which served children with parents in prison. After realizing the incredible struggles and challenges children without fathers in their life face, he continues to feel God’s calling as a mentor for young people. Matthew and his wife have one daughter, live in Chili, NY and worship at Calvary Assembly of God where he also serves as an Elder.

Joanne Heydens – Administrative Director

Joanne Heydens is a control analyst at Avangrid Inc., an operating company of gas and electric utilities. Joanne is a past Ministry Director of Flower City Work Camp, a ministry of Flower City Outreach. Joanne has been married to her best friend, Gary, for over 36 years. They have three grown daughters and four grandchildren. Joanne and Gary make their home in Penfield, NY and worship at Calvary Assembly of God Church where they serve as Elders.

Pastor Warren E. Meeks, Jr. – Mentee Engagement Director

Pastor Warren E. Meeks, Jr. serves as the Executive Director of Rochester Family Mission, serves on staff at Victorious Living Church and is an active community leader in Rochester, NY. He is currently completing a degree in Business Administration through Roberts Wesleyan University. Warren lives with his wife Sara and 4 children in West Henrietta and worships at Victorious Living Church.

Pastor Patrick Crumity – Mentee Engagement Specialist

Patrick Crumity serves as a Spiritual Life Partner at St. John’s Living as well as a Certified Chaplain with Corporate Chaplains of America. He is the Senior Pastor of New Horizon Faith Center United Methodist Church located in the inner city of Rochester NY. He is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is married to the love of his life Tasha and have 3 beautiful children together. He truly believes that we are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.

Jennifer Hinkley – Match Director

Jennifer Hinkley is a special education teacher who has benn teaching in the public schools since 2016. She is dedicated to her students and their families. Jennifer has seen the effects of students from fatherless homes first hand and is passionate about the ministry and mission of LINK. From conversations to interactions, she has seen the positive differences Link is making in the lives of both the mentors and the mentees in the program. Jennifer has been married to her husband for 6 years and lives in Chili NY, where she is actively involved in her church, Calvary Assembly of God.

Alyssa Bruno – Match Specialist

Alyssa Bruno is a Registered Nurse for Rochester Regional Health with a primary focus in Women’s Health for the last 12 years. Alyssa served in the past as the the Westside Lunch Coordinator for Flower City Work Camp, ensuring all sites received a hearty meal. She is inspired by the mentors and mentees of LINK and their dedication to form meaningful relationships while keeping Christ at the center. She lives in Penfield with her husband Mike and two children, and they worship at Calvary Assembly in Chili where she has served in the infant room.

John Iacucci – Match Specialist

John serves as the Worship and Outreach Pastor at Calvary Assembly in Chili. He has lived in the Rochester area for his whole life, and coaches football part-time at Churchville-Chili. He’s been married to his wife, Kali, for 5 years and loves getting to be in and around the Rochester Community. He’s also an avid Bills fan!

Samantha Hance – Joint Activities Coordinator

Samantha Hance works as an Executive Financial Professional Assistant at CFG The Money Docs. Samantha attended Flower City Work Camp for 6 years throughout her school years, while also being an active participant in Second! Student Ministries through Calvary Assembly of God in Chili, NY. She is passionate about coordinating social events to network and spread the love of Jesus. Samantha supports the work of Link ministries by creating opportunities for Mentors and Mentees to bond with each other, but also as one large group doing new and different activities, both physical and spiritual. She lives in Greece with her husband Nick, soon-to-be son, and two dogs, where they serve as Greeters on Sunday’s at Calvary Assembly of God.

Mike McOrmond – FCO Executive Director

Mike McOrmond founded Flower City Work Camp (FCWC) in 1985 and led it in the early years before moving on to other ministry opportunities. He later rejoined the organization as a charter member of the Flower City Outreach Board of Directors when the organization incorporated in 2015. He served as the Board Chairman for three years before stepping into the paid professional role of Executive Director in 2020. Mike has been ministering for the past 40 plus years in the region in both pastoral and traditional marketplace roles. He is married to his college sweetheart, Tammy, whom he met at Houghton College and they are blessed with seven children, one daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren. All seven children of their children have attended FCWC as campers. He resides in Penfield, NY with his wife and worships at Grace Road Church.

Link Youth Mentorship is led by a committee of volunteer leaders who originally founded the ministry in 2020. As a ministry of Flower City Outreach (FCO), Link Youth Mentorship is governed by the FCO Board of Directors who provides oversight, governance, and administrative leadership for each of its ministries.
