FIND A MENTOR

Link Mentorship is a program that matches trained mentors with young men between the ages of 8-18 in the Greater Rochester Area who are in need of encouragement, friendship and positive influence in their lives.

A young man can be referred to our program by a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle or family friend if they know of a young man would benefit from being paired with a mentor.  A child can even refer themselves!  But the mentoring relationship will only begin with a parent or guardians consent.

Our mentors are all men from local area churches who have been background checked and trained to ensure their safety, reliability and competence in mentoring a child.  They come from all walks of life – business, ministry work, non-profit organizations, law enforcement, shift workers, professionals – who all have one thing in common: a desire to make a positive influence in the life of a young man growing up in the city.

You can expect a mentor to spend 5-8 hours a month communicating with and meeting with the young man you refer.  That could look like texting and talking, help with homework, rides home from school.  And it might even include attending local sporting events, hanging out or attending school functions together.  A mentor’s commitment is for a minimum of a year to make sure their involvement is consistent.
